Dr. James Coon grew up in North Muskegon and Grosse Pointe Woods. He enjoys Lake Michigan, skiing, and spending time with friends and family. He lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife, Meridith. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 2013, and then from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2018. He has been practicing optometry in Grand Rapids since 2019. He works to educate the public, diagnose and manage eye disease, collaborate with providers, and provide personalized care to his patients.
