Emmetropia and Presbyopia

Emmetropia and Presbyopia: Emmetropia means light is focused on the retina by the lens and cornea without the need for correction. The muscle inside the eye contracts, widening the lens, so that we can see things up close. Over time the lens gets thicker and it becomes harder for the muscle to change the shapen of it. This is called presbyopia and is why we end up needing reading glasses.
